You assume control of Nor Vanek, a member of a coalition fighting against the old Gods to save mankind from extinction. Flintlock borrows ideas from both soulslike games and action games like God of War. The intentional combat and checkpoint system, along with losing your currency upon death are very souls inspired. While the open area exploration side quest, and gear system are much more akin to something like God of War.
